Music

Music written by me, for you - whoever you are, wherever you are.

What is my sound?

Downtempo, slow breakbeat music. Usually nice and uplifting, sometimes a little dark. A few house, techno and dub influences, and even some jazz and classical twists. What you are about to hear comes not just from the music I've listened to over the course of my life, but also from the simple things that go on around me on a daily basis. Something as simple as hearing a noise on the bus has been known to trigger a musical idea. I hear musical ideas in everything around me, and sometimes I have the time to realise a few of them. I hope you like what you hear - feel free to let me know what you think .

Thanks for listening, and if you DO like my music, please take the time to think about this important thought.

Tracks with a * in the "Pick" column are the ones that seem to be most popular (ones that I've had the most email about), or are my personal favourites, and thus are the recommended tracks to check out if you are new to my work.

Note: For high-bandwidth users, you can stream all my MP3s directly with this playlist, or if you prefer, you can choose individual tracks to download below.

For now, here's the work so far. Sit back and enjoy.

An Important Thought

This music was brought to you with the following sentiments in mind:

No musician needs a deal with one of the "Big 5" major record labels (Universal, EMI, BMG, Warner and Sony). Behind all their lies about "starving musicians", the fabricated plastic so-called "artists" they push receive next to nothing from the money you pay for their CD anyway - often less than 2% of the total purchase price.

The greedy oligopolist major labels do not care a rat's ass about musicians, or even giving you particularly interesting, good music to listen to. The only motivating factor for them is the profits that line the pockets of their executives. By buying music from the major labels, you are helping to increase their stranglehold on the music that you can and can't hear - but there is a simple way to stop this: only buy CDs from independant record labels and artists.

By supporting independant music and creating demand for something other than the commercial "music" product, YOU are helping to promote a whole new wave of musicians, who, quite frankly kick the shit out of anything that is available on the major labels anyway.

Not only that, but independent labels have always shown much more support to unsigned artists (like me) who are currently giving you their music for free. We do it because we love music - a viewpoint consistently shown by most independent labels.

Don't buy CDs from the major labels - if you do, your money is being squandered on bad people who seriously do not deserve your custom.

Next time you are about to buy a CD, take a moment to check where it has come from - the RIAA Radar page will let you make sure the album you are about to buy comes from an independant publisher, and can automatically check any CD available from Amazon.com in a single click.

The only way we can make these people stop the destruction of music is to not buy their tainted product in the first place. Thank you for reading this, and thank you for downloading my music, and remember:

If you really want to support "starving musicians" - start by not supporting the people who starved them out of the possibility of a career in music in the first place.
