Profound thought for the festive season

Posted Tuesday 24th December 2002

A life without religion equals a life without fear.

I'm not scared of death really.

Dying yes, but death no.

Because I'll be dead, and it won't fucking matter.

That may sound morbid, but it's not. It's actually my basic philosophy for getting the most out of the short time I have here to make my impact, and enjoying myself in the process.

So, if you are living your life in fear of death and retribution from some intergalactic space pixie, stop, and think about what this actually adds to your life? How much better would your time here be if you stopped worrying about everything, and instead just got on with your life and made something special come of it?

Religion is shit. Money is shit. TV is shit. Almost everything you think is good, is shit. It's all a fucking waste of your time, which is totally detracting from the single most important point of your life - to change your small part of the world for the better, for you and for those around you.

So, my thought for the festive season is that if we all just stopped sucking each other's cocks for a second, stopped wallowing in the filth of our own financial success and thinking how fucking great we all are all the time (while destroying some other person's country, life, or whatever for our own gain) and all put a little bit of effort into proactively making the world around us a better place, everything would be a lot more pleasant for everyone.

Futile things like having more money, having a bigger car, and praying to the space pixie while killing your fellow humans for your own gain would cease to have any significance, because the world would just become a better place overnight.

All you have to do, is have some ambition and make something of your life, instead of sitting on your ass and doing nothing while worrying about death. It really is that simple.
